What does an order actually cost?

There are three prices and no hidden fees. The Taster is $15, The Family Box is $25, and The Party Platter is $65. Delivery inside the ten-mile Tucker radius is included in each of those prices, so the number you see at checkout is the number you pay. Georgia sales tax is applied on the order summary before you confirm. We do not add a service charge, a small-order charge or a fuel charge, because we drive the routes ourselves in one loop on fry days rather than paying a third-party courier per stop.

How fast will my order reach me?

We fry three days a week, and every order is placed into the next available batch rather than cooked on demand. If you order before 8pm the night before a fry day, your box goes out on that day's delivery loop, usually between 10am and 2pm. If you order after that cutoff, you land in the following batch, which is at most three days later. You will get an email the morning we fry with a two-hour window, and a text when the driver leaves the kitchen with your box in the front seat.

Where do you deliver, and what happens outside that area?

We deliver inside a ten-mile radius of Tucker, Georgia, which covers Stone Mountain, Clarkston, Northlake, Lilburn and most of Decatur north of the railroad. The radius is measured driving distance, not straight-line distance, and the checkout will tell you immediately if your address falls outside it. If you are outside the radius, you can still collect from the kitchen on a fry day by choosing pickup at checkout, and we hold pickup boxes for four hours before they come off the shelf.

What is the Fresh-or-Free guarantee?

Every box leaves the kitchen hot and arrives inside the same delivery loop. If your box is not warm when it reaches your hands, tell us in the reply to your delivery text within one hour and we refund the whole order, not a portion of it, and we do not ask you to send the food back. We have paid out this guarantee eleven times since launch, and each time we adjusted a route rather than arguing with the customer. It is the reason we cap the radius at ten miles.

How spicy are the samosas?

The default samosa filling is mild by East African standards and reads as gently warm to most palates in Georgia: onion, ginger, garlic, cumin and coriander with a small amount of green chili. At checkout you can choose mild, medium or hot. Medium doubles the green chili, and hot adds pili pili to the filling and a small pot of pili pili sauce on the side so the heat stays under your control. Mandazis and chipettes are never spiced, so a mixed table always works.

Can I order something that is not on the menu?

Yes, within reason. Custom orders run through the contact form and need at least a week of notice so Consolata can source the ingredients into a regular fry day. We regularly make vegetarian-only samosa platters, unsweetened mandazis for people cutting sugar, and larger chipette counts for children's parties. We do not make gluten-free mandazis, because the dough depends on wheat and we cannot promise a separate fry oil in a kitchen this size. We will always tell you no rather than guess.

Do you freeze dough or par-fry anything in advance?

No. The dough is mixed, proofed and fried on the same morning, and nothing is frozen at any stage. That decision is the reason we can only run three fry days a week, and the reason a Party Platter needs four days of notice rather than four hours. Par-frying would let us hold stock and take orders every day of the week, but the mandazi crust would go leathery and the samosa pastry would sweat inside the box. We would rather sell fewer boxes that taste right.

How do I start if I have never ordered before?

Start with The Taster at $15. Put in your address so the checkout can confirm you are inside the ten-mile radius, choose your samosa spice level, and pick the next fry day that suits you. You will get a confirmation email straight away and a fry-morning email with your two-hour window. If your household finishes The Taster in one sitting, which is what usually happens, move to The Family Box for the following week and you will not run out again.
